Time for a Blu-Ray Preview, this time psychological thriller The Invitation.
Reluctantly accepting a dinner party invitation from his ex-wife Eden at the house they once shared, Will and his new partner Kira gather with old friends to toast new beginnings. Will and Eden were once a loving couple but after a tragedy, Eden disappeared….only to appear a couple of years later with a new husband, and seemingly as a different person…eerily changed and eager to reunite with her ex and those she has left behind. When Will sees more and more evidence that Eden and her friends have a sinister motive and paranoia mounts and tensions build, he begins to wonder what is real and what is imagined. As the claustrophobic night grows increasingly sinister, Will starts to realise that the lives of everyone he loves might be in danger…will they make it through the night? Can we trust Will’s hold on reality? Or will he be the unwitting catalyst of the doom he senses?
The movie has knife-cutting tension and has such elegance, it’s a great watch that you just cannot tear yourself away from. The cast works so well together and have brilliant chemistry and combined with such a great story it makes for a must-watch movie.
As well as the movie there is English subtitles, Commentary Track (Director and writers), interviews and the making of the movie.
This movie is definitely worth watching, and certainly a must-buy disc.
