Blu-Ray Review: Mortal Kombat (2021)

OK, with this being one of my favorite game franchises EVER, it was inevitable that I'd review this movie. I guess it was even more inevitable that despite this movie not being as good as it could be that I'd have a physical copy.....so let's check out the Blu-Ray release of Mortal Kombat (2021)

What's the movie all about? Well, here's something from Warner that tells you all about it...

Got the story? Good, now let's get on with reviewing the Blu-Ray.

Now, you can see all my thoughts about the movie in full on my review of the movie HERE, but I'll just say here that I do like this movie and it was enjoyable to watch, but I can safely say that this could have been far better...and when one character is pretty much left out of the movie it was a disappointment but despite this, it has enough easter eggs for the fans of the games and was left open for a sequel. It's certainly better than the 1995 movie ( and its sequel, and the live-action TV series) but this could and should have been so much more.

So, with that out of the way, what is this version on the Blu-Ray like?

Well, it's a good copy of the film on Blu-Ray (goes very nicely with the original movies released on Blu-Ray) with great audio and video quality with multiple languages and subtitles.

The extras on the Blu-Ray are ok, there's some deleted scenes, making of the movie, anatomy of a fight scene and more. I do feel it needed more extras, maybe a director's/actor's commentary would have been good.

If you are a fan of the franchise, pick up a copy, but don't expect the best movie that was out, and hopefully if a sequel comes out they will make up for that.

Mortal Kombat (2021) is rated 15 and available on DVD, Blu-Ray, 4kUHD and VOD now. Also, for the collectors out there, Amazon UK have a pretty nice Steelbook and Warner Shop give an A4 poster with all copies of the movie (while stocks last)
