There are some movies that really stick in your mind because of certain things that happen. A prime example would be the blood fountain in A Nightmare on Elm Street. Xtro is another example of a movie that does exactly the same...its remembered because of an iconic moment.
Family man Sam returns to Earth three years after being abducted by aliens, now having special powers. He seeks out his wife Rachel and his son Tony, but finds out his wife now lives with Joe. Rachel struggles with her feelings for the two men and in the meantime Sam's strange behaviour affects Tony in frightening ways.
This low budget movie is odd, but an absolute classic. Again this was another movie I saw as a child (maybe this is why I'm a "little crazy"? I jest, I'm fine....) and it was one of those movies you most certainly don't forget, and watching it again, it brought all those memories of watching this on VHS back again.
Now, until I got this movie I wasn't aware of how many ending there were! Before this release there 3 endings and then there was a special directors ending for this release. So 4 viewings of this movie was great! I have missed this movie!
Second Sight Films made another lovely special edition. In the hard Slipcase is the 2 disc edition of the movie (The Blu-Ray of the movie and the soundtrack) in a digipak with a book. The Blu-Ray is an absolute gem with all 4 endings of the movie, trailers, subtitles and interviews. There's also test footage of Xtro 4!

Contents of the Boxset. Pretty cool! The image you see near the soundtrack CD is the design on the back of the rigid Slipcase. I like this design more than the other.
Now, if you are thinking of buying this because of being a collector of the infamous "Video Nasties" STOP. People have this really odd tendency of mentioning Xtro being one of the "Video Nasties" but it wasn't on the list. But if you want something in that vein then grab it because it's brilliant!
Xtro Special Edition Box Set is rated 15 and can be bought directly from Second Sight Film.
