Quest for the WORST Movie Part 18: The Ballerina

Sometimes I do wonder what people consider as horror. Some of the things I’ve seen recently are really meh (and yes I know that horror doesn’t phase me before someone brings that up, but this stuff of late has been REALLY tame…damn!)

A prime example of this is The Ballerina. Again, another movie that Horrorbeard suggested for the Quest for the WORST Movie…damn you, these movies aren’t as bad as Birdemic, but heck these are serious #arsegravy!

A father and daughter are living on a campsite after the mother and son died. The father had been drinking heavily and was close to losing his daughter so he’d run away. The daughter was suffering night terrors and seeing “shadow people” coming to get her. There is a twist that comes with this movie, which is kind of sad, but to be honest by the end of this movie I really could care less because of off how and on rails this movie felt.

The movie is so slow, along with the music too (Horrorbeard, is the music a recurring theme?) which seems rather annoyingly plinky and I was close to punching out the speakers.

The other thing about this was the writer and director also starred as the father, and his daughter played the daughter, his wife played the wife….guess who played the son? If you said his son you’d be absolutely spot on! Talk about keeping it in the family, and even then it didn’t look like they had the chemistry there to act like an actual family. Go figure.

This movie IS NOT A HORROR MOVIE AT ALL. This is a drama a best. One thing it definately is is pure #arsegravy. This is what you would get if the Hallmark Channel was to make horror movies.

The Ballerina is Not Rated and available on digital download.
