Movies which are food related tend to be pretty odd…The Stuff, Killer Sushi, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory…all prime examples. Since I’ve been doing the quest the food movie that has popped up most in my searches (and was originally suggested by my good friend Huw-J….um, thanks?) was Attack of the Killer Donuts.

WE LOVE EATING THEM…NOW IT’S THEIR TURN!
So, the movie goes apparently a little something like this…a “genius” scientist has created a serum that can reanimated the dead and he accidentally gets some of it into the oil in the fryer where his nephew works in the local donut store, somehow making them into…well…killer donuts (I guess the clue is in the title really).
This, movie is absolutely bonkers. Totally. Utterly. So, some damn mad scientist gets into a fight with a donut shop owner and this causes the serum to get into the fryer. Yeah…right.
So all the mayhem starts with a free box of donuts given to some cops and to a (stereotypical) hipster who get attacked. In the police car was someone handcuffed…he ate one of the donuts and he suffered glowing flatulence, vomit and diarrhoea (which made no sense…just likethe rest of the movie that made no sense either).
This movie is nuts..the acting is stupid, the donuts make no sense (this is a regeneration serum, when were the donuts alive??), and I’m not sure if it’s CGI or animatronics being used for the donuts but t’s not even laughable.
When I was doing my research for this movie on IMDB I also found out that C Thomas Howell was in this movie as one of the police officers…damn, did he really need to be in this trash?!?
This movie is better than Birdemic, but it baffles me as to how… But it truly is!
Attack of the Killer Donuts is rated 15 and available on DVD and digital download.
